HISTORY
CIT Colleges of Paniqui Foundation, Inc.

(Formerly Central Institute of Technology)

The Central Institute of Technology, originally known as the Central Trade School, was founded in 1945 in Manila by Atty. Jose F. Palarca Sr. and small group of Filipino educators. Three years afterwards, Atty. Jose F. Palarca Sr. established the Central Institute of Technology in Paniqui, Tarlac.

The Central Trade School opened in 1945 with 40 students. It was the first private vocational school to open in the country. Originally established to give specialized instruction for vocational courses, in response to popular needs, the school soon branched out to other fields of training and hence, changed its name to Central Institute of Technology.

The years 1946-1947 marked a new era for the school. Its enrolment increased to thousand. From the time of its founding, the administration of the school fell directly on the shoulders of its President, Atty. Jose F. Palarca Sr. who continued to hold the position until his death on August 2, 1985
