HISTORY
HOW THE CIT GRAND REUNION WAS FORMED

We all know that the first CiT Grand Reunion in 2014 was very successful through the leadership of Bruno M. Alonzo Jr. Batch'67 residing at Vallejo, California with members of the Executive Committee International from different batches. As early as the last quarter of 2019, the younger brothers of Bruno Alonzo, Alberto M. Alonzo Batch'71 & Honorio M. Alonzo Batch ’74 were talking about the projects related to the school, assistance & students’ scholarship, and about having a 2nd CIT GR. Alberto residing in Toronto Canada while Honorio is in Paniqui, Tarlac. And at the same time Alberto (Co Chair- for Event & Planning1st CIT GR 2014) was communicating with the CIT HS Principal, Ms. Eros Estrada on behalf of 1st GR 2014 Executive Committee Int’l about student assistance who are in need.

In March 9, 2020 at 8:55 AM, the Alonzo brothers started conversation about having a 2nd Grand Reunion with CiT High School Principal Eros B. Estrada Batch'79, She was adamant and couldn't decide on the matter. Alberto told me to talk personally with Madam Eros and convince her to be the Over-All Chair in the said reunion. I was then organizing two grand reunions, the PES Batch'70 and Medichem so I said to Alberto with the experience in organizing, I can be of help with the 2nd CiT grand reunion like what I did in the 1st Grand Reunion 2014 where I was a Director in Communication. Further negotiations were done but still Mam Eros refused to accept the offer of being the Over-All Chair, instead created a group chat to get ideas with fb friends whom she knew who participated in the 2014 grand reunion.

I met Madam Eros the following day and conducted an actual video interview to convince her to be the Over-All Chair for grand reunion March 2021 And she accepted the position with my convincing skills that the Alonzo brothers will be at her back. My experience in ambush interview as publisher of Tarlac Headlines a local newspaper in Tarlac Province and well-trained broadcaster of UNTV News seemed to be effective at that moment. A video is well documented to support this statement. We started a group chat to establish contact with several batch leaders. But, unfortunately, COVID 19 dampens our spirit and there was an advisory to refrain from social gatherings, so the plan was put on hold and waited for COVID 19 to subside. After 5 long years of waiting, Feb. 28, 2024, at 9:12 PM, my brother Alberto called up again to revive the plan of activating the 2nd GR this time it will be 2025, established the CITC Alumni Association Inc.. I chatted Madam Eros and told me that CiT Admin are willing to a accommodate the grand reunion in the Alumni Night and Homecoming Day on the week of CIT Foundation. And on March 4, 2024, at 3:24 PM, Again, we revived the group chat and started looking for batch leaders and the first active batch leaders came out in our search Mam Jocelyn Sison Batch’94, followed by Sam Cabansag Batch'73 and so on and so forth. And the big "FIRE" started. So, I said finally, Madam Eros, " you have no choice now, the Alonzo brothers chose you as Leader “You are the Chosen One." And the flame keeps on burning...
